If you have been researching equipment for your new voiceover or podcasting venture you have likely read that a large diaphram condenser mic with pop filter is the only way to go.
When the only available gigs were voiceovers for broadcast TV advertisements, theatrical work or cinema, the perfection of a very experienced voice artist with a very high end large diaphram condenser in asoundproof commercial studio was the ony way to compete.

But things are different today, and you might find that a dynamic microphone can have a place in your early recording career.

Now a lot of work is related to minimally funded projects forYoutube, TikTok, internet advertising and podcasting.
The more forgiving dynamic may end up getting youmore work.
First of all, when recording in a larger live room, dynamic microphones can will not be as sennsitive to a lot of room noise that a condenser microphone will typically capture. Using a dynamic will also save time on “de-essing” a recording because of the mic’s relative insensitivity to that sound.
Some people find the dynamic gives a better subjective sound to their voice.
Also, you are likely not recording cinema television quality voiceovers to begin with, So without a true studio with sound isolation, the large diaphram condenser mic may actually beca liability for those new to recording and editing.
Don’t let them discourage you!
