Microphone Test, Microphone Comparison

LIBRIVOX

The folks at Librivox are volunteer readers of public domain books and take their microphone and audio editing tutorials very seriously.

Their comparisons include all manner of low end and high end solutions from IPhone mic's to Sennheiser.

This is a project which will allow readers and listeners to compare the recording quality of a wide variety of recording devices. It is a sequel to another project in which readers submitted readings of a poem on a variety of portable recording devices.

A few independent producers set up 17 mics side-by-side. The mics ranged in price from less than a hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. They focused on the less-expensive mics, and the mid-range popular standards, hoping to find some bargains, or to confirm that some of the pricier industry standards might be worth the money.
