PC Speaker Sound Settings For Editing Audio

click disable in this case
PC speaker sound settings affect the sound when you are editing audio. You are editing sound that has been altered by your settings. Recently, after struggling for an hour with compressor and EQ settings...trying for a natural sound.

I remembered this, again
When editing audio It should be considered that your PC speaker sound settings will affect what you hear in your headphones. When editing audio with Audacity it's frequently overlooked until a file is played in a different device and sounds very different. Sounds completely different in your friends PC.

An easy example is Automatic Gain Control which will make your track sound louder or lower when you are setting compression and/or amplification. Go to control panel- Sound - speakers and turn off all enhancements before editing. In this way you will be optimizing your file before the listeners individual preference settings affect it.
